Description
Synonyms: Tetrazine-Bovine Serum Albumin Conjugate; Tetrazine-Conjugated Bovine Serum Albumin
Tetrazine-BSA is a functionalized bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugate containing tetrazine groups covalently attached to the protein surface. The tetrazine groups provide highly reactive handles for bioorthogonal click chemistry, particularly rapid inverse electron-demand Diels–Alder (IEDDA) reactions with strained alkenes and alkynes.
Tetrazine-BSA can be used as a versatile protein scaffold for bioconjugation, surface functionalization, hydrogel formation, and biomaterials applications. The multiple tetrazine groups on each BSA molecule enable multivalent modification with alkene/alkyne-bearing probes and biomolecules while retaining the favorable aqueous solubility and biocompatibility of BSA.
