Tetrazine Palmitic Acid is a tetrazine-functionalized C16 fatty acid conjugate designed for bioorthogonal click chemistry and lipid-based applications. The tetrazine moiety provides a reactive handle for rapid and selective inverse electron-demand Diels–Alder (IEDDA) reactions with norbornene-functionalized molecules under mild, catalyst-free conditions.
The hydrophobic palmitic acid chain promotes association with lipid bilayers, liposomes, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and other hydrophobic environments, while the exposed tetrazine group enables subsequent surface functionalization.
