Description
Synonyms: DBCO-Bovine Serum Albumin Conjugate; DBCO-Conjugated Bovine Serum Albumin; Dibenzocyclooctyne-Bovine Serum Albumin Conjugate
DBCO-BSA is a functionalized bovine serum albumin (BSA) conjugate containing dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) groups covalently attached to the protein surface. The DBCO groups provide highly reactive handles for bioorthogonal click chemistry, particularly strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with azide groups.
DBCO-BSA can be used as a versatile protein scaffold for bioconjugation, surface functionalization, hydrogel formation, and biomaterials applications. The multiple DBCO groups on each BSA molecule enable multivalent modification with azide-bearing probes and biomolecules while retaining the favorable aqueous solubility and biocompatibility of BSA.
