Description
Synonyms: Carbonylacrylic(CBA)-DMPE, Carbonylacrylic(CBA) labeled DMPE, 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamide-Carbonylacrylic(CBA) conjugate
DMPE carbonylacrylic conjugate is a lipid-based click chemistry reagent for thiol-selective labeling and bioconjugation of membranes, proteins, and biomaterials. This reagent is used for irreversible site-specific cysteine modification to develop highly stable protein conjugates for targeted drug delivery and biomedical imaging. Cysteine is a favorable amino acid for selective modification due to its low abundance and high nucleophilicity.
DMPE CBA conjugate has several important characteristics:
- Carbonylacrylics undergo a rapid thiol-Michael addition that create exceptionally stable bonds
- DMPE is a phospholipid used in lipid bilayers, making them useful for attaching proteins and polymers to cell membranes
- Can be used for antibody-drug conjugates, lipid-drug conjugates, functionalized nanoparticles
