Carbonylacrylic DSPE is a lipid conjugate in which the phospholipid DSPE is functionalized with a carbonylacrylic (CBA) group, providing selective bioconjugation with thiols. DSPE (1,2-Distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine) is a saturated phospholipid that serves as a core structural building block in liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, micelles, and other lipid-based drug delivery systems. Carbonylacrylic is a thiol-reactive Michael acceptor that reacts rapidly and selectively with cysteine thiols (-SH) under physiological conditions. Unlike maleimides, carbonylacrylic conjugates generally form more stable thioether linkages, with improved resistance to hydrolysis and thiol exchange.
